ADC is a civil society organization based in Argentina that, since its foundation in 1995, works to defend and promote of civil and human rights in Argentina and Latin America. ADC strives for a more democratic and inclusive society, respectful of the rule of law and the recognition of every human being’s dignity, freedom and full exercise of fundamental rights. ADC endorses and defends people’s fundamental rights, advocates for the strengthening of democracy and seeks for an inclusive society, focusing particularly on the more vulnerable groups, through the identification and research on forefront issues, the development of communication and advocacy strategies, and particularly the use of public interest litigation.

Bolivia

CONSTRUIR Foundation seeks to promote the strengthening of democracy and equal access to plural, equitable, transparent and independent justice for the protection of human rights.

The Citizen Observation Alliance of Democracy is a platform for political research, democratic monitoring and discussion of information for Bolivian citizens. The objective of the Citizen Observatory is to monitor, record, systematize and disseminate information that promotes active citizenship in public affairs, transparency and access to information, and the defence of the social, economic and political rights of people.

UNITAS contributes to the generation of alternative proposals for development and social change towards a democratic, supportive, equitable and just society, together with social movements, popular organizations and other Civil Society Organizations that are development actors in their own right.

The objective of the Institute is to deepen the discussion on democracy in Brazil and in Latin America as a whole, with special emphasis on the comparison between Brazil and Argentina.

Chile

Multitudes seeks to bring citizens closer to public institutions by providing them with tools for effective advocacy and accountability, thus expanding the spaces for citizen participation in decision-making. Their vision is to see all people have the right to influence and defend their interests and those of their community as part of the exercise of democracy.

Latinobarómetro

Latinobarómetro investigates the development of democracy, the economy and society as a whole, using public opinion indicators that measure attitudes, values and behaviours. The results are used by socio-political actors in the region, international and governmental actors and the media.

VioDemos

The objective of VioDemos is to develop a comprehensive analysis of how every day and exceptional forms of state and non-state violence affect the practices of citizenship and democratic governance in Chile, through a strategy of comparative and interdisciplinary research, and historical analysis.

Colombia

Visible Congress is a program of the Department of Political Science of the Universidad de los Andes. Its main objective is to permanently monitor the activities carried out by the Congress of the Republic of Colombia, promoting the strengthening and transparency of the institution, citizen participation in accountability exercises to their elected officials, and informed voting in electoral processes, through its Visible Candidates Campaign.

Exituto is an organization of different political groups that believes in strengthening democracy, open government, and innovation. Exituto undertakes 3 lines of work: Democratic innovation, collective intelligence and political advocacy that aim to strengthen leaderships, organizations, institutions, campaigns and political parties.

The institute is a think tank of business origin, non-partisan, private and independent. It generates knowledge and influences decision makers and public opinion to defend the political and economic institutions that guarantee free enterprise, the rule of law and private property as drivers of overcoming poverty and democratic coexistence. The institute works for a society in which people exercise their freedom, live with dignity and cooperate through the market process to create wealth and general well-being.

The Democracy Observatory is the academic centre for research and analysis of public opinion and political and social behaviour of the Department of Political Science of the Universidad de los Andes. The Democracy Observatory interprets and analyses the opinions, beliefs, attitudes and perceptions of Colombians regarding structural and current issues, informing the Government, authorities, academia and the general population, in order to contribute in this way to the generation of public policies, initiatives, actions and debates regarding key issues for the development of the country.

Costa Rica

FUNPADEM works to build a more open, just and sustainable Costa Rican and Central American society, based on peace and democracy. FUNPADEM’s work is focused on five key themes: Peaceful conflict resolution, Security and the prevention of violence, Democratic governance, Justice and compliance, and Environmental sustainability.

We contribute to promoting democracy and respect for human rights as conditions for peace and the creation of opportunities for human development in the Central American region. We work with Central American citizens in an inclusive way to promote development, democracy, opportunities and skills.

Ecuador

Citizen Participation, is an active part of a citizen movement that exercises its rights and contributes to strengthening democratic institutions and transparency in public life. Its main objectives are to contribute to the strengthening of institutions and democratic leadership in the country, promote citizen participation in Ecuadorian democratic life, promote transparency in public activities and democratic processes through mechanisms of social oversight and citizen control, and promote dialogue processes between the different actors national.

El Salvador

The University Institute of Public Opinion is a research center that has for more than two decades systematically tracked Salvadoran public opinion and conducted field research on a variety of social issues effecting El Salvador and Central America. From electoral politics to human rights, from gangs to incarceration rates and prison conditions, the IUDOP has remained since its inception at the forefront of rigorous field research on Central American topics of social concern and the public’s response.

OUDH aims to be an academic tool that compiles, systematizes and provides information to other university units, social organizations, public institutions and civil society in general, with the purpose of creating an analysis and a responsible impact on the promotion, protection and defense of human rights in El Salvador.

Guatemala

Citizen Action is the Guatemalan Chapter of Transparency International, dedicating its efforts to the prevention and fight against corruption in the country. It was established to promote a conscious citizenry committed to the construction of democracy in Guatemala, as well as to promote transparency in public management.

The Central American Institute of Political Studies -INCEP- is a private, non-profit regional entity that has worked since 1969 to contribute to the strengthening of democracy, regional integration and sustainable human development in Central America. INCEP provides political and social training and training processes; situation analysis and political research; advice to political parties in electoral campaigns and institutional strengthening processes, especially at the municipal and local development levels, as well as in political communication; and publication editing.

Honduras

The Center for Research and Promotion of Human Rights (CIPRODEH) is an organization that generates changes aimed at the construction of a State of law, democratic, fair and respectful of human rights and citizen freedoms in a manner consistent with inclusive participation and people’s needs. CIPRODEH is committed to the development of a society that promotes and demands democratic values and vindicates its rights within the framework of a social state of law, responsible, guarantor of justice and freedoms for all people in society.

Mexico

Fundar is an independent, interdisciplinary, non-partisan and horizontal organization, which promotes the advance of Substantive democracy. Fundar monitors public policies and public institutions through applied research, critical reflection, experimentation and linkage with civil, social, and governmental actors.

Government and Political Analysis AC is a Civil Society Organization (CSO) specialized in academic research, the strengthening of civil society and citizen training and advocacy. The Institute of Studies for the Democratic Transition is a non-profit civil association without party affiliation, established since 1989, in the heat of social movements and electoral conflicts that accelerated political change in Mexico. Its founding purpose: to promote rigorous reflection and analysis on the problems of democratic development and social life in Mexico. Democracy and social equality are the central themes of the association, the axes that support all activities, publications, debates, collective belonging and public initiatives.

The INE is the highest electoral authority of the Mexican State, which in addition to carrying out federal elections and issuing the Voting Credential, carries out a series of activities both within the institute and for citizens.

Democracia Digital promotes the responsible use of the Internet and new technologies to empower citizens and achieve digital transformation from public entities.  It also warns about the risks in the digital era in order to educate, raise awareness and contribute to reduce any negative effects.

Transparencia is a civil association that works for the quality of democracy and plural political representation in Peru. Transparencia facilitates dialogue between political, governmental and civil society actors in favor of good government and democratic institutions. We implement education and capacity development programs for citizen and political leadership.

Uruguay

ITeM seeks to contribute to the construction of democracy, placing civil society organizations as key agents in this process. ITeM primarily supports organizations from developing countries and focuses its solidarity in furthering the interests and hopes of the world’s poor, women and oppressed minorities. By promoting networks and the socialization of information and knowledge, ITeM contributes to the construction of democratic, equitable and environmentally sustainable societies.
