The Australian Democracy Network aims to create a healthy Australian democracy that puts people and the planet first. The ADN brings people and organisations together to campaign for the changes that make democracy more fair, open, participatory, and accountable.

The Australia Institute’s Democracy & Accountability Program was founded in 2021 to research the solutions to Australia’s democratic deficit and develop the political strategies to put them into practice. It builds on decades of work by the Australia Institute to make the case for better, more representative political institutions and for the powerful to be held to account.

The Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance (CDDGG) is the world-leading centre for scholarly and applied research in deliberative governance. Our fields of expertise are diverse, but we advance a common research agenda that examines how deliberation – inclusive, reasonable, and reflective communication – can empower people to shape political decisions that affect their lives.

Featuring treasures from the state’s collections, the gallery contents challenge visitors to think again about people and power. Its mission is to share stories about the history of democracy in South Australia and to encourage and support civic engagement.



DemocracyCo creates opportunities for citizens to participate constructively in the decisions that matter to them. It supports better decisions and policymaking, by advising governments and organisations on best-practice deliberative engagement processes, and by designing planning and facilitating respectful dialogue and collaboration.

The Diplomacy Training Program (DTP) is an award winning independent Australian NGO committed to advancing human rights and empowering civil society in the Asia-Pacific region through quality education and training, and the building of skills and networks.

newDemocracy is an independent, non-partisan research and development organisation. It aims to discover, develop, demonstrate, and promote complementary alternatives which will restore trust in public decision making.


The CCF is a non-governmental organisation that advocates and educates for good governance, human rights, and multiculturalism in the Republic of Fiji. CCF works with women, youth, and other marginalised groups, as well as politicians and community leaders. CCF also networks with other local and international NGOs to share experiences and lessons learned on peace building, participatory democracy, human rights, and social justice.

Toksave Pacific Gender Resource aims to address gender inequality in the Pacific by ensuring quality Pacific research and knowledge is discoverable and accessible.


The Knowledge Sector Initiative (KSI) supports Indonesian policymakers to develop more effective development policies through better use of research, data, and analysis.

​​Ko Tātou (LGNZ)

Local Government New Zealand (LGNZ) provides the vision and voice for local democracy in Aotearoa, in pursuit of the most active and inclusive local democracy in the world. We support and advocate for our member councils across New Zealand, ensuring the needs and priorities of their communities are heard at the highest levels of central government. We also promote the good governance of councils and communities, as well as providing business support, advice, and training to our members.


​​Trust Democracy

The role of Trust Democracy is to strengthen public discourse, education and research on the state of democracy in Aotearoa New Zealand. We do this by providing spaces for deliberative dialogue and by stimulating people’s interest and participation in political discourse. We are working towards a society that values and promotes participation through public deliberation.

Papua New Guinea

The Papua New Guinea National Research Institute (PNG NRI) was established in 1961. The PNG NRI is an independent statutory authority established to conduct independent policy research into economic and social development issues affecting PNG. The PNG NRI conducts research into PNG society and the economy in order to enable practical solutions to such problems to be formulated.

Transparency International PNG Inc. is a national chapter of the Global Transparency International movement. Following a business ethics seminar in 1996, a number of concerned Papua New Guineans came together and established a national chapter of TI, to promote transparency in public and private dealings. TIPNG was then launched on January 27, 1997 and has since been at the forefront of the fight against corruption in PNG.
